Haygain 2000

Haygain develops scientifically proven hay steaming units for the equine industry. Their patented system is currently the world’s leading method for steaming hay, reducing the respirable particle content by up to 95%. In 2014, FSW Design were approached by Haygain to design the flagship 2000 steamer unit. FSW Design worked with Haygain and their suppliers to develop a large rotationally moulded container suitable for the steaming process.  The product consists of a separate base moulding with gas strut assisted hinged lid.  Careful consideration was given to the format of the mouldings to create inherent strength and avoid distortion caused by the high temperatures the unit would be required to withstand.  The unit incorporates side access handles encouraging safe unloading of the steamer and double skin mouldings create an insulated layer to prevent the extreme heat reaching the outside surfaces. Brass and Stainless Steel fittings, with a polypropylene body resist corrosion and help to produce a truly rugged and highly durable solution.
